This position will be responsible for aligning the tactical and strategic planning horizons. The candidate will work closely with several areas of the organization - Operations Plant and Corporate / Supply Chain Management /Technical / Commercial Sales and Sales Service - to ensure plans meet business goals and customer requirements.ResponsibilitiesThe primary duties of a S&OP Planner include:
Compile monthly S&OP production plan
Determine plant/product inventory levels by SKU using statistical analysis and drive the need for inventory build/reduction and based on these levels determine dunnage required to execute plan and manage dunnage allocation between plants on an ongoing basis.
Identify production variances to both budget and prior forecast.
Work with demand planning and financial teams to determine if proper upside and necessary inventory builds are included.
Upload and validate production and demand files each month
Review monthly plans with finance and plant personnel to provide insight and explanation of plan.
Review monthly plans with regional planners to insure appropriate inventory levels are targeted and optimal run cycles are planned at the day to day level.
Track performance to plan throughout the month to monitor adherence to original production plan and changeover performance (increase/decrease) versus budget/forecast.
Participate in scoping meetings to provide supply chain insight on available capacity for upcoming projects/potential wins.
Lead monthly S&OP meeting and be point person on projects, PSI and capacity constraints.
Performs other duties as assigned

QualificationsCore Proficiencies and SkillsS&OP Planners are required to interact with other managers, employees, vendors, and customers. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
BS/BA Degree is required (Supply Chain/Operations or Business Management is preferred).
Minimum of 1 – 3 years’ experience in any of the following: Production/Supply/Inventory/Material planning
Previous experience in SAP (PP, MM, APO, SNP or PPDS ) or related ERP system is preferred.
Previous experience with a Planning Software is a plus (SAP APO or Adexa).
Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office tools, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
APICS certification preferred
