Shop Helper
Looking for a unique individual or maybe even two.
This is an ON PAYROLL job only.
The ONLY exception would be if you can provide proof that you have your own business.
We do NOT pay cash under the table. Please dont ask.
Who we are:
Small family run business with our office in our home. We are in the Mt. Gretna area of Lebanon County. Ideally, we would like someone who lives close enough to be conveniently able to work sporadically, a few hours at a time without having to drive a long distance.
You may be asked to:
Unload a pick-up truck and trailer that have come back from a job site
Reload it to prepare to go to the next job site
Accept deliveries of materials, sort them by job site
Put away materials, equipment and tools
Sweep the floors
Wash the vehicles
Empty the trash
Mow the lawn, whack the weeds
Mulch the flower beds
Move furniture around
Run errands, pick up materials, equipment and tools as needed.
Deliver materials, equipment and tools to a job site
If we are short on help, you may be asked to assist at a job site.
And the list goes on¦
Bonus if you have basic maintenance/handyman skills -it is not necessary to be able to do everything but you should have some variety of skills and/or be easily teachable.
We would like someone who is able to work with little supervision and direction.
Some weeks there may only be 1-3 days of work, comprising 8-24 hours of work.
Other weeks, there may be 20-40 hours of work and we might need your help each day.
This should be considered seasonal work as we are usually busiest in the spring, summer and early fall and a bit slower over the winter months. There will probably be work available for you most of the year, just not as much in the winter. That said, for the right person, this could become a full-time, year-round job.
We are very flexible within reason and will work with you to allow you to work the hours that are best for you. We would prefer not to have anyone working here in the evenings unless absolutely necessary. Weekend work would be available occasionally but is not mandatory.
Qualifications and Requirements:
You will be put on payroll, no exceptions.
Must have a valid drivers license with a safe driving record and reliable transportation.
You must be trustworthy.
You must be able to think things through, make good decisions and work independently with little or no supervision.
You must be able to lift and move heavy boxes, tools, equipment, etc.
You must be okay with a schedule that changes daily and sometimes hourly, you must be flexible enough to go with the flow. We will guarantee you that no two days will ever be the same
Pay and Benefits:
We pay very fairly and generously. After an initial discussion, we will determine your starting pay based on your experience and enthusiasm for the job. Starting pay will range from $12 to $20 an hour. Within the first few weeks, maybe even days, we will set your pay rate based on your skills, performance, work ethic and dependability. Pay could easily go to $25 an hour or MORE for the right person.
