Job Title: Receiving Supervisor

Location: Landisville, PA

Job Summary:

The Receiving Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the receiving department, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely receipt, inspection, and storage of goods. This role is responsible for supervising receiving staff, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining an organized, safe, and compliant work environment. The Receiving Supervisor ensures all inbound shipments are properly documented, inspected, and distributed, playing a crucial role in inventory management and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee Receiving Operations:

Supervise and lead the receiving team, including training, scheduling, and performance management.

Ensure accurate receiving of all inbound shipments, including verifying quantities, quality, and condition of goods.

Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to prioritize and schedule receiving activities.

Manage the organization and proper storage of goods, ensuring inventory is handled efficiently and safely.

Documentation & Reporting:

Ensure all shipments are documented accurately in the inventory management system.

Review and approve receiving reports, discrepancy reports, and damage claims.

Maintain accurate records of all inbound shipments, receipts, and issues.

Generate regular reports on receiving activity, productivity, and issues for upper management.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving processes.

Continuously identify areas for improvement in receiving operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in the receiving area.

Collaborate with vendors and carriers to resolve any receiving discrepancies or issues.

Inventory Control:

Work closely with the inventory team to support accurate stock and cycle counts.

Assist in root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies and take corrective action as necessary.

Ensure products are properly labeled and stored by inventory procedures.

Team Leadership:

Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Conduct regular team meetings to address challenges, share updates, and maintain alignment with company goals.

Mentor and develop staff to ensure consistently high performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in a warehouse, receiving, or inventory management role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership position.

Skills:

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Proficiency in inventory management systems and warehouse software.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.

Certifications: Forklift certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy materials up to 50 lbs.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform other physical activities for long periods.

Work Environment:

Work primarily in a warehouse or distribution center.

Exposure to varying temperatures depending on the season.

Salary Range: $21/hour
