Lancaster Farm Fresh Organics is a Lancaster-based trucking company that handles all of the transportation needs for Lancaster Farm Fresh Coop- an organic, local, non-profit, farmers coop with 115 members. We pick up and transport all of the farmers products to our warehouse, and the next day we ship everything out within a 150-mile radius, primarily to the Philadelphia, NY, DC and Baltimore metropolitan areas.
This person will lend support in a variety of ways to our Bookkeeper, Dispatchers, the Human Resources Supervisor, and the Director of Transportation, with a focus on billing. We might need this person to occasionally do small deliveries in a cargo van, so a clean driving record is a must. Other odds and ends will turn up since we are always growing, sometimes in unexpected ways. For the right person, this has the potential to lead to a full-time position.
Requirements
-A get-the-job done, upbeat, positive attitude
-Flexibility
-Have 1 or 2 years of experience in a fast-paced office environment, or comparable experience
-Exceptional customer service skills, including excellent written and verbal communication
-Solid organizational and time-management skills
-Demonstrable experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
-Experience with Quick Books is a plus
-Enthusiasm for and commitment to working with farmers in the local, organic food business
We have a heavier workload from May to December and a lighter workload from January to April. From now until the end of the year, we expect this position to be 2 or 3 days a week, approximately 6 to 10 hours a day. It is somewhat flexible.
