System One is currently seeking a Metrology Engineer for an industry-leading client in the Latrobe, PA area.Job Summary Design, develop, implement, and manage processes for semi-automated measurement systems. This includes· management of fixture development and program generation internally or by subcontractors. This position reports directly to the Metrology Manager. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for all CMM (Touch Probe and Vision} department programs and documentation (training) of those programs.
Interpret engineering drawings, specs, planning, work instructions, and work with management and engineering staff to determine measurement requirements. Establish best methods of measurement for engineering studies and manufacturing applications.
Establish and manage suppliers of fixturing, gages and programming.
Create training process for personnel operating automated measurement systems.
Assist QA in developing- standardized data analysis reporting and storage.
Create process for generating detailed instructions for use of CMM fixtures (item code specific) in manufacturing applications.
Create robust methods for validating CMM and Vision programs and other technical metrology equipment.
Design and implement a system for identification and storage of fixtures and programs.
Create robust contingency plans for manufacturing and engineering measurement requirements.
Use Problem Solving skills to optimize the metrology lab from a technical and efficiency standpoint.
Proficient in PC-DMIS
Perform D.O.E Response dimension inspection, First Article Inspections (FAI) (Modified and Full), as well as Capabilities Studies and Gage R&R's. Review the results with appropriate personnel.
College Degree or 4+ years Metrology experience
GD&T Certified
Greenbelt (Lean Six Sigma)
ISO 17025 certificate, or successful completion of an ISO 17025 course
Statistical Certificate, or successful completion of a Statistical course.
