Job Description:

Designs, develops and supports internal and external business systems/applications (IBM COGNOS ICM). Works with systems interfaces, databases, reporting tools, as required to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives. Provides business user support for existing ICM models related to reported technical and data issues.

• Skilled throughout the full change management life-cycle from requirements gathering, design and development thru formal testing phase, go-live implementation and post go-live support.
• Demonstrable success in working within a formal project structure and capable and willing to plan and lead projects when required.
• Adept at resolving technical and business process issues within tight timeframes.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with vendors, service providers, internal IT staff, business analysts, and various levels of management.

Responsibilities

• Solicits and translates business, and functional requirements into documented specifications.
• Assesses the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex functions.
• Produces clear, concise, and complete requirement, functional, and technical specifications.
• Performs analysis and design of business systems applications, systems interfaces, databases or reporting. Focus is IBM Cognos ICM.
• Utilizes IBM Cognos ICM (formerly Varicent) to manage and analyze business problems and translate requirements into a design.
• Utilizes database tools (Microsoft SQL Server) to analyze complex data scenarios and assist in defining solutions.
• Partners with architecture and other development resources to ensure the business requirements are met by the proposed and delivered solution(s).
• Designs and build solutions in IBM Cognos ICM that meet business objectives
• Provides work breakdown, accurate estimates of effort, and timelines for completion of assigned tasks.
• Works effectively within the functional team and within a project management plan.
• Provides existing ICM model support, working with Commissions Business Analysts on reported technical and data issues.
• Plans, facilitates, and participates in working sessions with cross-functional resources.

Technical Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, MIS or related area
• 5+ years' experience in commissions application support, including: business analysis, solution design, configuration & development, testing, implementation, and support
• 5+ years’ experience working hands-on with IBM Cognos ICM.
• 5+ years’ experience utilizing a DBMS, like Microsoft SQL Server
• 5+ years of experience working within projects, including project management experience on small to medium projects
• Solid experience in MS Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Experience with MS Project helpful
• Experience with SQL Server performance tuning
• The following are not required, but desired:

o Experience in IBM Cognos ICM upgrade projects
o Experience with SAP ECC 6.0 SD and FI modules
o Experience with Informatica PowerCenter 9.1.0 (Workflow Monitor and Workflow Manager)
