Assist with structural evaluations, provide technical consultation, and guide customers on the analysis, design, and compliance of power plant components to applicable design codes and program standards.
Execute structural analysis developing and utilizing skills such as: engineering mechanics, finite element analysis, thermal/mechanical analysis, fracture mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics, shock, vibration, fluid dynamics, and related technologies.
Utilize engineering analysis and computer simulation modeling applications such as finite element analyses, post processing software, etc. and apply scripting and programming on limited basis.
Assist with reviewing and evaluating equipment specifications and vendor proposals for overall structural requirements.
Assess adequacy of component structural evaluations performed by suppliers to demonstrate the component structural integrity through independent verification and/or technical reviews.
Participate in technical meetings with suppliers, other prime contractors and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program representatives.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics or other related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics or other related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience in mechanical analysis/design, with emphasis on structural analysis and material behavior requirements.
Demonstrated experience using finite element analysis and computer-aided engineering techniques.
Proven track record of effective written and verbal communication skills and creative problem-solving capabilities.
Working knowledge of some or all of the following: engineering mechanics, fracture mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics, shock, vibration, fluid dynamics, or related technology.
Familiarity with pressure vessel design codes such as the ASME pressure vessel code.
Experience in Python programming, data analytics, or relevant coding languages.
