Primary Responsibilities:
Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of gearboxes for the commuter rail vehicle industry.
Disassemble gearboxes to identify the components and create a Bill of Materials.
Perform the reassembly of gearboxes once the material arrives, ensuring that all irregularities and concerns are communicated to the Gearbox Shop Supervisor.
Identifying defective parts that need to be removed and doing so on an as needed basis.
Maintains continuity among the Gearbox Shop by communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanical role, preferably, in a manufacturing environment.
Mechanical experience within the automotive industry is a big plus.
Able to troubleshoot issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyers.
Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps is highly preferred.
Microsoft Excel experience may come in handy but is not a requirement.
