What You'll Do:
Must be able to read and understand drawings and schematics.
Must have working knowledge of various types of motors and starters from 250 volt D.C. to 4160 A.C.
Must have DC crane knowledge and servicing and troubleshooting experience.
Must have a working understanding of transformers and substations - must be able to service transformers, as needed (filter oil, inspect tap chargers, inspect all high voltage breakers); service breakers in substation; and service battery house.
Assists Millwrights as needed.
Must have knowledge of proper and safe rigging methods as well as the safe and correct operation of mobile equipment.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems is preferred.
Will assist in developing CMMS system job plans and Preventive Maintenance Plans.
Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.
Must have ability and desire to work with others.
Meets attendance requirements.
Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
What You'll Need:
Strong commitment to safety
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent GED; Secondary education is preferred.
Minimum of two years' working experience in a heavy industrial facility, steelmaking environment preferred
Documented high-voltage training preferred.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
Working knowledge of the following and how to service them: Various types of motors and starters from 250 volt DC to 4160 AC
DC Cranes
Transformers and substations
Rigging methods
Safe and correct operation of mobile equipment
Hydraulic systems (preferred)Strong work ethic
Willingness to learnWill be required to submit to a criminal background investigation. Physical and drug screening will be required upon offer of employment. Applicants must be able to provide a High School Diploma/GED upon hire.
