DescriptionAre you ready for a rewarding and challenging career? ELLWOOD Group, Inc. is looking for a Metallurgical Engineer for our entry-level Metallurgical Engineering Development Program
This position has responsibility for metallurgical aspects of manufacturing and provides metallurgical
support to management personnel for operational challenges in a fast-paced organization. Utilizing independent
judgement, this position provides technical support for various phases of material processing, works with Operations
to ensure good quality procedures are in place and assists in experimentation with new materials and processes to
expand and improve the end products that are provided.
The successful applicant will be placed in the Metallurgical Engineering Development Program for approximately 1.5
years that will provide exposure to all the products produced by ELLWOOD companies at locations in PA, OH and
TX.
What You'll Do:
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Conduct product and process development and metallurgy reviews to support production;
Review and analyze customer material specifications;
Assist with development of new grades and processes to meet customer requirements;
Follow established procedures and sound metallurgical practices;
Provide technical support for all phases of steel and aluminum operations;
Execute and analyze metallurgical testing activities and results;
Provide cost reduction and process enhancements related to metallurgical aspects of the products;
Assist with problem solving of metallurgical topics throughout the facilities;
Analyze and determine root cause(s) of internal non-conformances and mechanical test failures;
Investigate customer claims and provide oral/written summation of findings;
Customer interface involving metallurgical items;
Must have ability and desire to work well with personnel at all levels of the organization;
Ability to travel regionally and nationally, as needed;
Abide by all policies and procedures established by the Company;
Meet attendance requirements; and
Perform other duties as deemed necessary.
Must be a US Citizen or have a valid green card.
What You'll Need:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science with a concentration in Metallurgy or commensurate level of experience; and
Up to one year of internship experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Knowledge of Metallurgical Engineering concepts and manufacturing methods and procedures;

Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to plan, organize, prioritize and execute; High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Syteline experience a plus;

Willingness and ability to work outsi e of normal work hours; and
Ability to travel regionally and, on occasion nationally; reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
