PURPOSE OF POSITIONShop Technician 2 in Quality Inspection areas must have the ability to perform inspections, examinations, and tests according to documented procedures and industry practices.The role is an Individual Contributor who conducts routine analyses and tests of various components of a quality control program in the production lines and tests of in-process materials and finished products to ensure conformity to specifications. He/she follows standard procedures, is closely supervised, and communicates information that requires little explanation or interpretation.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

Perform the inspections, examinations, and tests according to documented procedures and industry practices. The employee shall be familiar with the inspection tools and equipment to be used and shall be proficient in their use.

Plan inspections, examinations, and tests.

Set up tests, including related equipment, as appropriate.

Supervise or maintain surveillance of inspections, examinations, and tests.

Train lower-level personnel.

Report inspection, examination, and test results.

Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination, and test results.

Determine if the calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment is current; that the measuring and test equipment (M&TE) is in proper condition; and that the inspection, examination, and test procedures are approved.

Mechanical inspections may include:

Physically measuring the product with measuring & testing equipment.

Operating 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine and 2D measurement systems.Electrical inspections may include:

Operating Electrical Test Equipment.

Operating Test Panels.

Visual inspections per design documents.

Crimp, Solder, and assembly verifications per design specifications and workmanship standards.Visual inspections include:

Looking for defects in the product.

Organize and manage work related to outgoing deliveries including scanning/reviewing inspection files against customer requirements, completing packaging and labeling requirements.

Ability to follow up quickly and consistently to bring issues to closure, set challenging goals and achieve measurable results. Ability to proactively resolve problems and seek opportunities for continuous improvement. Ability to recognize when clarity and guidance are needed. Willing to seek help and use a questioning attitude when needed.

Ability to successfully complete and maintain applicable site specific safety training including Electrical Safety; Radiation safety; Hazards communication; Respiratory protection; Lifting/Handling; PPE Use. Complete certifications as applicable; train to job applicable procedures.I. KNOWLEDGE

a. Describe the knowledge required to perform the major responsibilities.2-6 years relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining or inspection skills. Specific knowledge of electrical or mechanical drawing, or machining plus required mathematics.

Preferred: Nuclear Industry experience.b. Identify specialized education and/or experience requirements.NPOHigh School degree or equivalent.

Preferred: Associates Degree related to electrical, mechanical or machining, or equivalent.c.
