PA Family Alliance is adding to our team of Outreach Assistants

Outreach Assistants will help us connect with families of children and young adults with social, emotional, behavior and mental health challenges (including autism). They will actively seek out groups that support families in the mental health arena as well as individual families who are raising children and young adults who meet our criteria.

Our Outreach Assistants will meet with local system providers to promote awareness of our program, work with systems and the community to encourage partnering and schedule requested trainings and networking opportunities.

You are a great candidate for our position if you are actively involved in your local community, enjoy networking, both in person and online, and are technologically savvy.

All candidates are required to have lived experience as a primary caregiver who raised or are currently raising a child or young adult with serious emotional disorders (SED) or mental health challenges.

This is a 10 hour per week position. Work will be done remotely.

Applicants should live in one of the following PA counties: Centre, Lycoming, Northumberland, Northampton or Schuylkill.

Exceptions: In order to ensure our staff reflects our audience, we are particularly interested in interviewing people of color, grandparents raising grandchildren and/or bilingual family members from any county in PA.

Job Summary:

The Outreach Assistant must be a creative problem solver and detail-oriented, demonstrate the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and have the ability to balance multiple priorities. Must have the ability to work independently on projects, from conception to completion, and handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Network and build trusting relationships with families, agencies, organizations, community members and other

PA Family Alliance employees.

Make routine visits to meet with local community agencies/organizations with a child and mental health focus.

Post about our services and events, as well as promote local support groups and services online (e.g., social

media and forums)

Increase community knowledge and awareness about family-run organizations and the services they can

provide.

Identify appropriate outreach events to participate in in the local area, and coordinate with the Director for

approval.

Coordinate proper follow up with all referral sources and be efficient with follow up in a timely manner.

Maintain a database from community contacts and marketing events.

Complete time tracking and expense reports

Document community events through video, photos, etc.

Assist with annual conference planning

Be available for occasional overnight travel, scheduled in advance

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

At least one year of demonstrated experience in community involvement and/or organizing, advertising,

marketing or outreach activities.

Lived experience raising children with social, emotional, behavioral and/or mental health challenges.

Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new programs.

Experience working in a remote environment a plus.

Travel, Special Conditions, or Requirements:

Possession of a valid Pennsylvania drivers license and reliable means of transportation required.

Reliable internet access is required.

Have car insurance at $100,000/$300,000.

Must be able to travel locally, out-of-county, and nationally as needed.

This position requires Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Act 33/34 and Federal childrens clearances.

Hours, Salary, and Benefits:

This is a 10 hour per week position. Benefits include: Paid Time Off (PTO), Holiday Pay, 401K participation, $20 monthly communication reimbursement and mileage reimbursement. The hourly range is $14-$15 hourly depending on experience. Bilingual speakers will be compensated at $17 per hour.
