Postbox Philly is an independently owned “pack and ship” mailbox store opening spring 2024 on South
Street in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood of Philadelphia. The Store Manager is a key component
to our growing team! You will be responsible for successful operations and sales growth for our retail
location. As Store Manager, you will supervise and delegate responsibilities to your team to ensure
efficiency and accuracy. The ability to remain upbeat and positive throughout the day, while engaging
in a fast-paced environment, will make you highly successful in this role.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Responsibilities include managing daily retail operations including opening and closing the store
Motivate, train and develop all part-time associates, focusing on excellent customer service and
productivity
Monitor cost controls and expenses
Complete orders and inventory procedures weekly
Accurately complete weekly and monthly retail reporting tasks on a timely basis
Communicate clearly with your team and store owner
Ensure operational systems follow company guidelines
Proactively handle customer complaints and resolve customer issues
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and order within the store, restrooms, back of house, and
the front sidewalk if necessary. All areas must be free of trash and debris and highlight the store
entrance in a welcoming professional manner.
Other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee a small team of part-time customer service representatives to ensure a high level of
job performance
Support and manage employees in accordance with federal and state law and company policy
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Requires outgoing personality, exceptional customer service skills and the ability to manage a
team for peak performance in a retail-service environment
Strong organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Some accounting knowledge preferred
Solid computer skills with knowledge of internet applications
Microsoft Word and Excel; Postal Mates knowledge is a plus but not required
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs regularly.
Manual hand dexterity required to operate Point of Sale System, copiers, packaging tools,
sorting and placing mail and packages in designated locations and complete customer
paperwork.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency required
Management experience preferred
Positive customer service and hospitality experience is required
Proven sales ability: including the ability to manage and motivate your team to reach sales goals
Adobe/ Microsoft Office and/or Postal Mates POS system experience a plus
Schedule: Fulltime, onsite 40-50 hours/week
Store Hours: Monday – Friday 9AM-6PM, Saturday 9AM-2PM, Sunday CLOSED
Annual compensation: $41,000 - $44,000, commensurate with experience and credentials
