Full-Time Position
We are expanding our estimating department and looking for a detail-oriented individual with an engineering, architectural, or technical background to join our team. You will work directly with our estimators to help accelerate our estimating workflow. We will train you.
About the Role:
Your job is to support our estimating team in preparing competitive bids for commercial carpentry, millwork, and architectural woodwork projects. You will learn how to read and interpret construction drawings, perform material takeoffs, and assemble pricing packages.
Responsibilities:
-Review architectural and construction plans
-Perform material takeoffs and counts
-Identify components in drawings (e.g., doorways, arches, wall panels, cabinetry, trims, etc.)
-Create detailed material lists
-Assist in composing proposals and bid packages
-Request vendor pricing and track quotes
-Help prepare pricing assemblies for carpentry and woodwork scopes
-Support project files and general office administrative tasks
-Work closely with the estimating team to improve speed and accuracy
Requirements:
-Visual skills and strong attention to detail
-High concentration and good memory
-Strong math skills
-Ability to read drawings or willingness to learn fast
-Good understanding of measurements, scale, and spatial reasoning
-Basic spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets)
-Detail-oriented and able to follow logic in plans
-Good comprehension — able to identify objects in drawings (e.g. recognizing an archway and understanding what’s needed to complete our carpentry scope)
-Reliable, organized, and eager to learn
-Team player
-Architectural / CAD or engineering knowledge is a plus
-Experience with construction or carpentry is also a plus
