Job DescriptionOur Animal Models Core is looking for Animal Husbandry/Cage Wash Technicians who will ensure the humane care and treatment of laboratory animalsAs an Animal Husbandry/Cage Wash Technician, you will actively support GTP discovery and pre-clinical research programs by contributing to the care and upkeep of rodents. You will be performing basic husbandry duties such as cleaning/sanitizing caging and accessory equipment; sanitizing/decontaminating all work areas; performing routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on cage washers/autoclaves; prepare for animal arrivals (preparing cages with appropriate bedding, watering/feeding accessories, etc) observing animals, reporting abnormalities to Supervisor and/or Veterinarian; monitor and maintain inventory and stock for assigned area; and perform accurate data collection/reporting.Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience are required; Training or coursework beyond high school is a plus.

Assistant Laboratory Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification preferred.

Must have experience animal handling and be dedicated to the humane care of lab animals.

Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping a must!
