Business Intelligence Architect/Designer – Contract role Philadelphia Primary Duties Assist in defining infrastructure needs for reporting system for new product Ability to work across the organization and across levels Familiarity with quant tools and languages Help define data governance process Determine data feeds needed Manage multiple work streams Determine what info/data needs to be generated
Technical knowledge needed (this is not a hands-on role) AWS or cloud dataase experience SQL and knowledge of database operations Reporting systems and dashboards and KPI development Familiarity with Python and API development Job Description: The Director, Business Intelligence is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data systems and processes that support the business. This will require partnering closely with technical teams on system design and with business leaders to design processes for continuous reporting and metric tracking. The ideal candidate will have experience managing highly complex multi-year programs with multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and will have the ability to work across technical data infrastructure teams and data intelligence teams. Core Responsibilities:
Lead a small team in the development of end to end business intelligence systems including technical architecture, development, operations, and governance
Leverage technical skills, business acumen, and creativity to build data integrations, warehouses, and reporting automation that results in key insights to you and our stakeholders
Use quantitative research tools and models and assists in interpretation and development of implications to address client business problems Develop and communicate goals, strategies, tactics, project plans, timelines, and key performance metrics to reach goals Create and manage supporting and related business intelligence processes around user behavior and internal analytics Work across the organization to ensure insights result in progress and corrective actions within the product Establish and implement policies, standards, practices, and security measures to assure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard the information resources
Solve for timeline and roadmap challenges with collaboration and creativity
Drive alignment across division and executive stakeholders
Qualifications: 10 years of relevant complex business intelligence end-to-end experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Proficiency in Python, SQL, API development, data warehousing technologies, ML processes (data cleansing, training models, classifying data, etc.). Proficiency in Redshift, Vetica, Snowflake, and other relevant data retrieval technologies Proficiency in modern source control systems, especially Git Proficiency in cloud-based DevOps: AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure Desired proficiency in Kafka, Kinesis, PubSub, and other messaging and event platforms Desired experience with modern map/reduce frameworks such as Hadoop Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills High detail orientation with the ability to understand the big picture Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills Ability to anticipate problems and identify alternative solutions Comfort working in a virtual, highly collaborative environment Excellent organizational and follow-through skills; able to prioritize and manage many simultaneous tasks and priorities Ability to influence people and resources to ensure timely completion of tasks Willingness to adhere to established processes while keeping an eye for opportunities to improve or develop processes, structures, and systems Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science, or Engineering, or equivalent work experience
