AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 7-8, 2026. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.AECOM is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern interested in joining a premier engineering company with potential to gain experience on a variety of challenging transportation and infrastructure projects that include work within the highway, bridge, and mass transit industries. Clients include the City of Philadelphia and DelDOT statewide pavement rehab program, supporting clients such as PennDOT, DelDOT, Amtrak, the City of Philadelphia and SEPTA.Internships at AECOM offer students in undergraduate and graduate programs the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, and infrastructure projects that make a real-world impact. Interns work with cutting-edge technology, learn industry best practices, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a globally recognized firm. The program fosters both technical and professional skill development while providing networking opportunities that can enhance future career prospects. Additionally, AECOM’s dedication to innovation and sustainability enables interns to contribute to meaningful projects that help shape communities and the built environment.This position is expected to begin in Summer 2027. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Assisting in the development of roadway alignments, traffic control plans, right-of-way determination, utility coordination utilizing OpenRoads Designer, Microstation, AutoCAD and a variety of Civil Engineering design software applications and MS Office applications.Assisting with preliminary to final design calculations and plan development, reviewing of field information, possible field inspection of existing facilities and other work consistent with the duties of an entry level engineer.General office administration, including report reproduction, collation and deliveries.Enthusiastic individuals eager to face new challenges and take on personal responsibilities are best qualified to meet the demands of this work. An intern is expected to be able to apply technical training to perform basic calculations, work well in a team setting and be willing to work diligently to learn new skills.
