The Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) will be working on a clinical research study, within the Department of Nursing, Geriatric Program. For this project, the CRA will conduct standardized data collection from patients 70 years of age and older and their family care partners during in person and telephone interviews. Interviews will include delirium assessments twice daily (including weekends) for the entire hospitalization and include extensive discharge interviews. One month follow up interviews with the patients and their family care partners will be conducted over the phone. The CRA will conduct medical record reviews at scheduled study visits and enter data into the study database in a timely manner. The CRA will participate in weekly standardization meetings via zoom.The position has direct supervision by the Associate Director, Abramson Family Center for Nursing Excellence as well as supervision from the Data Core Project Manager and Principal Investigator. This position is contingent on funding and is a term-limited position funded by Patient Centered Outcomes Research Initiative (PCORI) through April 2027. At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate, and will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.
Responsibilities:
Complete standardized interviews and assessments, in-person and via telephone, to patients and family caregivers (training will be provided).
Performs and completes timely data entry into study database (REDCap).
Manage study database including data cleaning and query completion as needed.
Identify and document protocol deviations and adverse event reporting.
Work independently with minimal supervision to maintain and preserve study blinding.
