It is not to be used for temporary or contract workers.Job DescriptionProgram OverviewThe Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Throughout the experience, there is opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun along the way.Role OverviewAt Comcast, we are dedicated to data privacy and security solutions. Our team specializes in de-identification, ensuring the protection of personal information while enabling our organizations to analyze and leverage data for valuable insights.As a De-identification Center of Excellence Development Co-op at Comcast, you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry experts, contribute to cutting-edge de-identification projects, and gain practical experience in the field of data privacy.You will play a vital role in supporting our de-identification team and driving the success of our projects. You will work closely with our development team to assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of enhancements to our home-grown de-identification solution. You will work closely with experienced professionals to assist in developing, implementing, and refining de-identification techniques and processes. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your knowledge, learn from industry leaders, and make a meaningful impact in safeguarding privacy and promoting responsible data utilization.Co-op responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain software applications.

Assist in the implementation of software features, including coding, debugging, and testing.

Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality and efficient code.

Collaborate with team members to identify and troubleshoot software defects and issues.

Assist in the implementation and configuration of de-identification tools and software platforms.

Assist in the analysis and assessment of data sets to identify potential privacy risks and propose appropriate de-identification strategies.

Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality software solutions within assigned deadlines.

Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong understanding of software development principles, algorithms, and data structures.

Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, C, or JavaScript.

Familiarity with software development tools, such as integrated development environments (IDEs) and version control systems (e.g., Git).

Basic knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

Familiarity with data management principles, data governance, and best practices in handling sensitive information.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.

Prior experience with software development projects, either through coursework, personal projects, or internships, is a plus.

Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning concepts is a plus.

Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Software Engineering, CyberSecurity

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university that has a cooperative learning track.

Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting April 1, 2024 through September 20, 2024.

Available to report in-person to the work location provided above.

3.4 minimum cumulative GPA preferred.
