Description Robert Half is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected company. This Controller role is pivotal within our team, focusing on a range of accounting and financial tasks. You will be responsible for supervising month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, preparing financial statement packages, and leading the day-to-day financial operations. This role will also involve managing a team of accountants, leading the year-end audit process, and working closely with the Head of Finance.Responsibilities:
Supervise the month-end close process inclusive of reviewing both the balance sheet and income statement to ensure all entries have been recorded accurately for the month.
Supervise the balance sheet reconciliation process to ensure all accounts have been reconciled prior to closing the month.
Prepare the financial statement package which includes face statements, fluctuation analysis, indirect cost analysis, intercompany interest calculation, cash forecast, and ASC 842 lease accounting on a quarterly basis.
Lead the day-to-day financial operations to ensure that invoices are being processed accurately and paid timely as well as ensuring bi-weekly payroll cycles for each studio are being processed accurately and timely.
Work closely with the revenue and cost business controllers to ensure any issues are resolved relating to budgeting and forecasting.
Requirements
The ideal Controller candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA required.Other requirements for the Controller position include and are not limited to:
5+ years of proven experience in general accounting/financial reporting in a fast-paced environment along with 2+ years in management.
Strong knowledge of GAAP with the ability to apply principles effectively.
Detailed oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel including Vlook-ups and pivot tables.
Thorough experience with ERP systems
Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy
Team player with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
