Our client in Philadelphia, PA is looking for a Data Scientist to join their team.

Position Description:


  • Automating an application process

  • Total automation revamp from Windows code

  • Working on a multi-year project

  • Work in an agile environment




Required Skills:


  • 3+ years Python development

  • Experience writing high-performance production quality code

  • 3 years implementing models

  • Data science training/certificate

  • 2+ years' experience tuning the relevance of search results, using deep learning techniques or machine learning, such as query/text classification and learning to rank (LTR)
    Traditional machine/shallow learning techniques and algorithms, including ensembles,language models, Support Vector Machine (SVM)
    Natural language processing (NLP) technologies and the handling of unstructured text




Bonus Skills:


  • Advanced search techniques (vector search, NeuroIR, etc.)
    Experience applying deep neural networks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) to real-world problems, especially in information extraction and/or entity linking.
    Knowledge of modern deep learning approaches to natural language processing (NLP), including but not limited to word2vec / fastText, LSTM/GRU, BERT, and its variations.
    Hands-on experience in SOLR / Elastic or other similar search engines supporting web applications.
    Hands-on experience in Java on text mining.
    Experience building and debugging distributed systems.
    Great oral and written communication skills to articulate technical solutions and rationales to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
    Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related fields.
