THE POSITION

The Northeast Regional office of the Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an Environmental Engineer Manager. In this position, you will manage all operations within the Permits Section of the Clean Water Program at the Northeast Regional Office. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that all activities are conducted efficiently and in compliance with relevant regulations. Your responsibilities will also include facilitating collaboration among team members to successfully meet the program's goals, which encompass the evaluation of plans, engineering reports, specifications, and other pertinent documents. Furthermore, you will prepare, coordinate, and submit feedback, as required by the central office, regarding proposed changes to departmental regulations, policies, and procedures. Additionally, you will assist regional counsel in formulating responses to appeals concerning any permits that have been issued or denied by the section.As a supervisor your duties will include all employee actions from interviewing and selecting individuals to fill vacancies, ensuring new employees are adequately trained, preparation of employee performance reviews and administration matters.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years as an Environmental Engineer or an Air Quality Engineer; or

Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development, design or construction.

Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists or a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the applicable licensing body of another state.

Conditions of Employment:

This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Post Employment Requirement:

Successful candidates with an out of state Professional Engineer license will be required to produce a valid Professional Engineer license issued by Pennsylvania within their initial six month probationary period.

Other Requirements:

PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
