Job Title: Junior Data Scientist - Claims AnalyticsCompany: Chubb InsuranceLocation: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Whitehouse Station, New Jersey; or Jersey City, New JerseyJob Overview: As a Junior Data Scientist in Claims Analytics at Chubb Insurance, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's insurance claims division by applying data analytics and modeling techniques to improve operational efficiency, optimize claim settlement processes, and identify fraud patterns. You will work closely with senior data scientists and stakeholders to extract insights from large and complex datasets, ultimately contributing to the strategic decision-making process within the organization.Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis: Employ statistical and predictive modeling techniques to analyze large datasets related to insurance claims, identifying trends, patterns, and correlations to drive better decision-making.
Model Development: Assist in the development and implementation of predictive models for identifying potentially fraudulent claims, optimizing claims processes, and enhancing claims settlement accuracy.
Data Collection and Cleansing: Collaborate with teams to gather, clean, and organize relevant data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
Data Visualization: Create meaningful and visually appealing reports and dashboards to present analytical findings, enabling efficient communication with stakeholders.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including actuaries, underwriters, and claims professionals, to understand their analytical needs and provide actionable insights accordingly.
Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, methodologies, and tools in the field of data science and insurance analytics, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Documentation: Document methodologies, processes, and findings to ensure robust knowledge management and enable replicability of analysis.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree or higher is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, and experience with commonly used libraries and frameworks for data manipulation and modeling (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
Knowledge of statistical concepts and methodologies, such as regression analysis, time series analysis, clustering, and classification techniques.
Experience in data visualization using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib (Desired).
Familiarity with database concepts and SQL for data retrieval and manipulation.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think analytically and propose innovative solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
