Project Manager - Digital Workflow Automation

Position Summary The Project Manager supports application development requests through the City’s Digital Workflow Transformation Program. The Digital Workflow Transformation Program helps City departments digitize and streamline administrative processes by creating custom, digital applications using a variety of low-code/no-code software. The Project Manager reports to the Senior Project manager and assists in coordinating and managing technology-focused projects that improve business processes and service delivery across City departments. This role works closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, document requirements, support IT initiatives, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. Acting as a liaison between technical teams and business users, this position plays a key role in translating operational needs into effective digital solutions.   Duties and Responsibilities Develops and manages cross-departmental projects involving efforts to improve public sector efficiency and process improvement.  Prepares work plans, budgets and funding recommendations for CAO projects Monitors and manages project progress, performance, costs and contracts. Designs collaborative processes to facilitate the productivity of project stakeholders for optimal outcomes.  Ensures adherence to laws, regulations, policies, procedures, codes and guidelines relating to assigned projects. Provides technical assistance to staff as needed to support project implementation. Serves as project contact point to provide information to relevant stakeholders, including City leadership, community groups, and other institutions.  Prepares material for updating and commuting to leadership about projects and their development status.    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Organized: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, estimate timelines, adapt project approaches to unforeseen challenges, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. Action-Oriented: Ability to identify opportunities, navigate barriers, work independently, and develop solutions that enhance City processes and deliverables. Flexible and Adaptive: Comfortable with change and able to learn from feedback and evolving requirements. Strong Communicator: Effective at engaging stakeholders and conveying project information clearly. Policy Analysis: Ability to consider policy implications in project planning and implementation. Technical Aptitude: Experience with or interest in low-code/no-code platforms such as Quickbase or similar application development tools.
