Monday-Friday: 3PM-8PM (40hours per Week)Security Guard Position Summary
The Security Guard primary goal is to maintain a safe and secure environment within COMHAR's buildings and facilities. The Security Guard performs various duties, including monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling designated areas, controlling access to buildings and facilities, responding to alarms and emergencies, and enforcing security procedures. The position collaborates closely with other implementing facilities policies and procedures to maintain the overly safety and security of COMHAR's clients, visitors, staff, and property.Security Guard Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor all entrances and exits to the facility, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises.
Greet all clients, visitors, and employees in a courteous manner.
Assist with sign-in procedures are needed at designated locations.
Oversee the client sign-in system, ensuring that clients accurately sign-in and follow established procedures. Verify identification as necessary and direct clients and guests to appropriate waiting areas.
Monitor surveillance equipment (i.e. building cameras) located throughout COMHAR building and facilities.
Responding to any suspicious activities or security breaches.
Report any abnormalities or security incidents to the appropriate personnel immediately.
Maintain readiness to respond to emergencies, including medical emergencies, fires, and security incidents.
Assist with evacuations and emergency procedures as directed by COMHAR facility protocols.
Conduct regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior, including parking areas and adjacent grounds. Identify and address any safety hazards, such as tripping hazards or malfunctioning equipment, to the Director of Facilities and/or Assistant Director of Facilities.
Provide assistance to ensure orderly conduct in waiting areas, intervening in cases of disruptive behaviors or conflicts appropriate to the facility policies and procedures.
Maintain calm and professional demeanor during shift towards clients, visitors, and employees.
Aid and direct clients and visitors as needed, may include escorting individuals to their designated area within the facility and offer support and reassurance during stressful situations.
Maintain detailed logs of security-related incidents, including timestamps, descriptions, and actions taken. Submit incident reports to appropriate facility management personnel in a timely manner.
Maintain open communication with other security personnel, facility staff, and management to share information and coordinate responses to security incidents.
Participate in regular staff meetings and briefings to stay informed about facility operations and security concerns.
Maintain an ongoing knowledge of security policies, procedures, and protocols, adhering to all guidelines and directives.
Other duties reasonable and related to this position as directed by related supervisors.
Security Guard Skill Requirements
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high levels of responsive communication with various team members.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Technologically proficient with Micro oft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Power Point.
Ability and willingness to learn company software used to operate business.
Working knowledge of office devices and processes.
Must have knowledge of basic security operations and procedures.
Able to work well independently and on TEAMS.
Must have professional verbal and written communication skills required to satisfactorily perform job duties.
Be flexible and adaptive in handling changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Computer literacy is essential. Must be able to effectively use electronic health record, video conferencing, email, office products, and any other technology needed to meet job responsibilities.
Exercise sound judgment in carrying out daily activities, handling crises & emergencies.
RequirementsEducation, Employment and Credential Requirements
High School Diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma required.
Associate degree or bachelor's degree in management or another related field preferred.
Valid PA State Criminal, FBI, Child Abuse clearances.
Minimal of one (1) year of security/law enforcement/public safety experience required.
CPR w/AED & First Aid certification required.
Physical examination including PPD or TB shot.
