We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Signal Engineer with approximately 4 years of experience in rail and transit signal systems. The successful candidate will support the design, development, and implementation of signal engineering solutions for rail and transit infrastructure projects. The role includes preparing design drawings, technical specifications, and performing field investigations under the guidance of senior engineering staff or project managers.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the design of signal systems for light rail, heavy rail, commuter rail, or freight lines in accordance with industry standards and client specifications (e.g., AREMA, FRA, SEPTA, Amtrak, etc.).Develop signal layout plans, interlocking schematics, cable plans, crossing design control tables, route and aspect charts.Support the preparation of detailed technical specifications, bill of materials, and cost estimates.Coordinate with civil, traction power, and systems engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of signal systems.Review and interpret as-built drawings, field survey data, and existing infrastructure documentation.Conduct site investigations and support field testing, signal cutovers, and commissioning activities.Interface with clients, contractors, and suppliers during project delivery phases.Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and environmental regulations.Assist with project documentation, design reports, submittals, and review responses.
