EwingCole is offering a long-term career opportunity for a Sports Planner in an integrated Architectural, Planning, Interior Design and Engineering firm in Philadelphia. We are seeking an individual with a minimum of 8 years of sports planning experience who is looking for an opportunity for career growth into a leadership role. The ideal candidate desires to further develop their diversity of architectural expertise including planning, design, construction technology, documentation, and construction administration, with a focus on sports projects - professional and/or academic. The successful candidate will work in tandem with a EwingCole Principal on a series of sports projects in all phases of the design and construction process.

As part of the Architecture Discipline, the Sports Practice Planner takes a lead role with clients in all phases of project planning and programming. This position initiates the project development for specific solutions that advance the program and planning efforts utilizing Sports practice specific expertise. The Sports Practice Planner works independently supervising staff for medium to large scale projects with many complexities and undefined objectives. This position coordinates with the architecture and engineering teams to develop design solutions that meet the client's objectives and the firm's goals for design excellence, financial viability, and quality service. The Sports Practice Planner develops projects and concepts that advance the firms position in the marketplace and may explore new subjects, scope, concepts and methods.Essential Functions

Ensure the client's program and project objectives are addressed during the initial concept and early design phases of work.

Supervise teams of professional and technical support personnel in project situations.

Develop innovative solutions to project specific challenges that advance the firm within the industry.

Provide expertise support to project team members.

Research state of the art innovative concepts in planning and design.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Assist market segment leaders and the marketing department in the preparation of design documents and presentations material.

Develop Sports practice-based marketing material for project pursuits.

Participate in business development and the marketing of clients under the direction of the market segment leader through setting of strategy, sales presentations, seminars at professional associations and publishing of articles.

Work with market segment leaders and project designers to generate programmatic relationships that foster building configurations of great utility and design innovation.

Develop program documents and diagrams that address and support the client's objectives.

Work with the project manager and the project designer in creating buildings which serve the client's needs and responds to their desired image, space and aesthetic.

Write clear and concise narrative reports describing Functional use and adjacencies, Operational goals and objectives, and Expansion capabilities

Design and document innovative programmatic solutions specific to each client, consistent with the firm and market standards.

Assist the project team with practice specific support that governs the technical development of the project.

Continue work with the client to ensure the practice specific requirements are addressed.

Help carry the practice specific requirements through CA by providing support on an as needed basis to the CA team.

Requirements

Bachelor or Master of Architecture

Registered Architect in at least one state with suitable credentials for registration in other states

8+ years' relevant and direct experience in the planning and programming of Sports facilities inclusive of new construction and renovation

Proven superior graphic design, building design and conceptualization.

Hand drawing and s etching ability

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite and 3ds Modeling programs
