Join us and contribute to Sedgwick being a great place to work.Great Place to Work®Most Loved Workplace®Forbes Best-in-State EmployerVice President Workforce Absence & Disability Practice LeaderPRIMARY PURPOSE : To lead business line product strategy and innovation; to provide technical and strategic consultation to business development and marketing to address new business proposals; to interact with external industry experts, consultants, and regulatory bodies to influence legislation and advance initiatives; to demonstrate industry thought leadership and innovative approaches to product line strategy and tactical execution; and to ensure development and distribution of product line best practices to field offices and standards of performance for product quality and regulatory compliance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Innovates and develops new product line ideas and concepts.

Identifies emerging risks and workforce absence practice opportunities.

Represents the company with industry groups as a recognized product line expert.

Stays current on state regulations, case law, issues, and industry activities and trends; monitors regulatory compliance by product line, supporting thorough, timely communication to operations on new regulations and legislation.

Collaborates with internal lobbyist to analyze proposed regulations and legislation; provides opinions and develops support/opposition and impact statements to influence lawmaking.

Develops policies and procedures to drive compliance to best practices, claims management service standards, state regulations, and client service requirements; ensures development of best practices for operations teams and ensures continual evolvement of those best practices with analysis of outcomes and results.

Identifies best in class technology and programs for claims professionals to ensure best possible outcomes.

Assists Sedgwick general counsel in the preparation and coordination of defenses and responses to claims for errors and omissions, as well as regulatory penalty assessments.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other duties as assigned.

Travels as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance.

Administers company personnel policies in all areas and follows company staffing standards and training recommendations.

Interviews, hires and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts colleague performance discussions.

QUALIFICATIONSEducation & LicensingBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Management (AIM), Associate in Claims (AIC), and/or other relevant professional designations preferred.ExperienceTen (10) years of related claims management to include four (4) years in a supervisory capacity or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Skills & Knowledge

In-depth technical knowledge of claims management as it relates to specific lines of business

Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local legislative processes

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills

PC literate, including Microsoft Office products

Proven management, leadership, and motivational skills

Excellent negotiating skills

Ability to work in a team environment
