We are looking for a parttime prep cook (20-28 hours/week to start) for our recently expanded cafe & local food market in Bryn Mawr. Our food menu focuses on balanced, healthy meals using quality locally sourced products. Our cafe menu includes a tea and specialty beverage selection, as well as coffee, so having any barista experience is a plus, but not required. We prioritize serving as a community resource with educational and fun events, classes, and offering an inviting and nourishing place to linger and socialize.
Duties of this Role:- Help develop & execute new menu items consistently. of all menu items;
- Help ideate new specialty beverages;
- Help with inventory, including costing and ordering from suppliers;
- Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure smooth operations;
- Follow all food safety and kitchen sanitation practices;
Qualifications:
- Recent kitchen experience as a prep or line cook;
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to be part of a well functioning team and positive culture;
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Positive attitude
- Enthusiasm for new concepts and being on the ground level of businesses;
- History of performance, punctuality and reliability
- Recent professional references.
