Job Posting: Pit Master/Smoker at Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse
Position Overview: Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse is seeking a dedicated Pit Master/Smoker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality smoked meats, seasonings, and sauces according to our standards, ensuring every product meets Sweet Lucy’s excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Begin early at 6:00 am to 3:00 pm and/or occasionally working nights; reliability and punctuality are essential.
Handle raw meat according to safety guidelines.
Build and maintain fires for smoking meats.
Follow instructions accurately, accept feedback constructively, adhere to recipes, and work independently after a thorough training period.
Adapt to the restaurant's changing needs on a daily basis.
Organize and manage multiple smokers, various proteins, and time constraints efficiently.
Maintain high standards of quality control and attention to detail.
Manage loading/unloading of smokers, coolers, and dry storage, check in orders, package products, and assist with catering needs.
Comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Perform tasks with precision, speed, and accuracy.
Work well under pressure to meet production schedules and food display timelines.
Multitask while maintaining professionalism.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Thrive in a fast-paced, high-heat, and high-stress environment.
Physical Requirements:
Stand for the entire shift.
Work in high-temperature conditions.
Frequently reach, bend, and stoop.
Lift minimum of 50 lbs.
Communicate verbally with co-workers and management.
Salary starting at $17.00 - $20.00 (Base) or D.O.E
