10am Farm is a young farm project in the heart of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Owned by a successful hospitality group, we grow specifically and solely for restaurants in Manhattan with plans to grow into other restaurants under the hospitality group in the future. For the past few years we have operated on a market garden scale and are growing into a larger operation for 2025. We use no-till practices combined with intensive annual vegetable production techniques to create a balance for our land and crops.
The assistant vegetable production manager will work closely with the owner, production manager, and the rest of the team in raising vegetables from seed to harvest.
Requirements:
● Has at least 2 years vegetable production experience
● At least 1 year tractor experience
● Demonstrates proficient record keeping ability
● Proficient at harvesting, weeding and planting
● Able to work an 8hr day in all weather conditions
● Ability to lift 50 lbs safely and with repetition
● Dependable and organized
● Interested in management and team leadership
Responsibilities:
● Effectively and efficiently carry out day to day operations of the farm
● Collaborate with the owner to create an annual production plan and set production targets to ensure highest quality and diverse offerings.
● Evaluate and refine farm systems. Crop selection, cultivation methods, harvest and wash practices - Team performance and needs - Distribution performance and needs
● Greenhouse watering and seeding, transplanting, crop maintenance
● Pest and disease management
● Implement and maintain irrigation
● Harvest vegetables according to farm’s standards
● Oversight of Field production activities including prepping beds, preparing crop plan, creating a daily and weekly plan/priorities, gathering tools and directing tasks specific to bed and field management.
● Field Cultivation and Weeding, creating priorities for cultivation, determining correct cultivation tools, overseeing tasks and delegation of priorities of cultivation.
● Pest management - Identifying pest pressure and monitoring and remedies
● Managing overall Soil Health with appropriate amendments/fertilizers, brewing
compost teas, taking basic soil tests and adjusting irrigation accordingly
