A psychotherapist and researcher with a busy Center City clinic seeks a sharp, detail-oriented, and highly organized person to help keep things running smoothly—both in the office and with various administrative, research, and personal tasks.
This is a part-time, contract-based position with flexible hours, averaging about 8-10 hours per week. Pay starts at $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
The role is a mix of office management, executive assistance, and occasional research support. In the office, that means making sure everything stays tidy, well-organized, and aesthetically put together, with light cleaning, plant care, and general upkeep. It also includes handling billing and record-keeping, ordering and restocking supplies, occasionally picking out office décor or furniture, and hiring outside help when needed for deep cleaning or installations.
Beyond the office, this role would help with tracking down scholarly books and articles, managing shopping and delivery tasks, and handling some personal and business correspondence. There may also be some pet care involved for a small dog and other tasks that come up along the way.
The right person for this job is independent, proactive, and naturally detail-oriented. You should be able to anticipate problems and solve them before they become an issue, communicate professionally, and adapt quickly to different types of tasks. Strong writing and organizational skills are key, as is the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. A calm and tactful approach to handling responsibilities—whether working alone or coordinating with others—is essential.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a degree program.
Preference will be given to candidates with a current driver’s license, prior experience in administrative support, office management, or research assistance, and comfort with learning new business software and record-keeping systems.
Experience working in professional, healthcare, or academic settings where discretion and organization matter is a plus.
To apply, send a cover letter (200-300 words) explaining why this role interests you, your academic background, career goals, and any relevant experience. Please also include the names and contact information of two references who can speak to your academic, professional, or personal background.
