Personal Research Assistant for Nonprofit Executive

Position: Part-Time Personal Research Assistant

Hours: 8–16 hours per week

Location: In-person (coworking space or coffeehouse)

Pay: $20 to $35 depending on experience

Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Personal Research Assistant to support a busy professional with a variety of tasks. You will help manage research projects, organize travel itineraries, make phone inquiries, and provide general administrative support. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who enjoys handling diverse tasks, is not easily frustrated, and takes ownership of their work.

About the organization: You will be supporting an Executive Director/Founder of a organization supporting folks who have been released from prison and are looking to re-build their lives after incarceration and, especially, boost their financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough internet research on topics such as travel itineraries, hotel reviews, flight options, and specialized topics (e.g., state-sponsored savings programs).

Make phone calls to various service providers (e.g., psychiatric clinics) to gather detailed information.

Assist with administrative tasks including organizing information, writing summaries, and performing other digital or in-person errands.

Compile clear, concise reports and recommendations based on research findings.

Manage assigned tasks independently and ask for guidance when necessary to move projects forward.

Qualifications:

Prior experience as a research assistant or program assistant for a professor or executive.

Strong research and information-gathering skills (both phone and internet).

Comfortable with a variety of tasks, including travel planning and contacting service providers.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple projects.

Proficient in using common office software (e.g., Google Docs, Microsoft Office) and research tools.

Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
