We are a small, family owned, women run retail business about to celebrate our 18th anniversary. This is NOT intended to be a temporary position though with the holiday season almost here we are looking for a new full time team member (or, perhaps two part timers) with customer service experience, a great eye for detail and the ability to deliver strong customer service.
Our inventory is diverse, ranging from books and toys, to bath and body and pantry items, to clothes and tabletop. We source locally and domestically when possible and otherwise we look for fair trade and ethically sourced businesses. Because we are such a small staff, all of us do a little bit of everything which includes a great deal of customer facing and we pride ourselves on our customer service; applicants need to be comfortable interfacing with customers of all kinds looking for a range of help in buying products of different sizes and scope. Our customers are the reason we have thrived and we do everything we can to make shopping at our store the best experience possible. In addition to these basic requirements we are looking for somebody with experience in retail, specifically with visual merchandising and creating displays. We see retail as an art and we try to arrange our displays in ways that will help our customers see things the way we do, united by theme or category, color or size, budget or use. This is a job that uses all of your senses and requires that you are able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
