We have a property at the very bottom of a long steep hill which is below the grade of the storm drains. UD twp engineering and drain camera guys inspected and told us to put in a permit app for a private drain to tie into their storm drain box. Location is evident in photos. Apparently in UD, homeowners own the section of driveway behind the house and it is considered shared private property. We are looking for bids from licensed pros who can put in the application and take this ball home.
If everything is in order, they will approve an application. It must be submitted by a local licensed plumber. Attached is a video showing the water hitting the property. It comes down what is a very steep hill and hits the low point (us) with ferocity in a strong rain. The red arrow shows where there are 2 storm drains side by side (UD TWP) and the red rectangle shows one across the driveway and lower. The black arrows show where I watched the water hit the hardest. We installed the drain in the patio to a sump pump but the water hits it so hard and fast that it ends up inside the house with little making it into the drain. We need a large low drain probably near where the black arrows are but that would be your call. Please take a look and let me know what are next steps in getting a bid for this work and getting an application into the township.
