A leading laboratory vacuum pump sales and service company is seeking a Scientific Vacuum Pump Service Mechanic Trainee.
Responsibilities will include repair, service and preventative maintenance of laboratory vacuum pumps in the Southampton, PA location with future opportunities to study further and climb the ranks in the scientific laboratory service industry. The successful candidate will receive specialized training with better long-term salary prospects and excellent progression opportunities.
Primary Duties:
Perform routine, preventative maintenance and repairs on oil sealed and oil-free laboratory vacuum pumps. Duties will be performed both in the company's repair facilities and potentially in client laboratories after training.
Relevant mechanical repair experience or train-ability required.
Physical Demands: Required to be able to move about the facility (standing, walking) and customer sites, varying by location. Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions heavy objects.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have personal transportation, a valid driver's license as well as an insurable driving record.
Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude as well as have a firm grasp on electrical concepts. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Desire to learn mechanical, and electrical repair skills.
Must be able to work well with others on the job-site as well as on the phone.
Must be able to lift and transport laboratory vacuum pumps.
Must have passion to learn, problem solve with pride in quality work.
Previous laboratory vacuum pump experience preferred or an excellent opportunity for the best candidate to gain entry into the field.
