We’re looking for an experienced engine mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain Class-8 tractors. You’ll focus on diesel engine and aftertreatment systems to keep our fleet/customer trucks safe and road-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines (e.g., Cummins, Detroit, Volvo/Mack, PACCAR).
Troubleshoot aftertreatment systems (DPF/DEF/SCR), regen issues, sensor faults, and derates.
Use OEM diagnostic software and scan tools to read/clear codes and run tests.
Repair/replace engine components (injectors, fuel systems, EGR, turbos, cooling systems, belts, sensors).
Conduct inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance tests after repairs.
Document work orders, parts used, and labor times accurately.
Keep a clean, safe bay; follow shop safety policies and PPE guidelines.
Collaborate with service writers/parts staff to prioritize jobs and minimize downtime.
