Client Engagement Manager (Revenue Share/Accounting Practice Partner)

The Opportunity

We are an established accounting firm specializing in small business growth. We handle the heavy lifting—monthly reporting, payroll, tax compliance, and complex financial projects.

We are looking for an Engagement Manager to serve as the "Face of the Firm" for a dedicated book of clients. You will not be keying tax returns, inputting journal entries, or processing payroll yourself. Instead, you will own the client relationship, translate their needs into directives for our production staff, and ensure the final deliverable solves the client’s problem.

If you are a seasoned accountant, bookkeeper, or tax pro who loves consulting but hates the grind of production work, this is your opportunity to build a high-income portfolio using our infrastructure.

How You Get Paid

This is not a salaried position. You operate as a partner in the profits of the clients you manage.

- Recurring Revenue: You earn 17% of the monthly invoice for every client you manage (Bookkeeping, Payroll, Advisory) and one-time projects you scope and manage (Tax Returns, SBA Loan Apps, Cleanup work).

As you grow the relationship and identify new needs for the client, your income grows automatically.

What You Will Do

- Client Advisory: Conduct monthly or quarterly financial reviews with business owners. Interpret their financial statements and offer actionable insights.

- Project Management: Translate client requests into tasks for our internal accounting staff. (e.g., "Client needs an SBA loan packet; Staff A, please pull the last 3 years of tax returns.")

- Quality Control: Extract and prepare source information and review financial reports and tax returns prepared by staff before they go to the client to ensure accuracy and context.

- Upselling & Expansion: Identify when a client needs more than basic compliance (e.g., "I noticed your inventory is complex; let's discuss a sales tax nexus study").

Who You Are

- The Translator: You speak fluent "Accountant" and fluent "Business Owner." You can explain a P&L to a plumber without making their eyes glaze over.

- The Technical Expert: You have a background in accounting/tax. You understand the difference between Cash and Accrual, you know what a Schedule C is, and you understand SBA requirements.

- The Manager: You are comfortable giving direct feedback to staff to ensure work meets your standards.

- The Entrepreneur: You are motivated by a "hunt and farming" compensation model. You want your income tied to your results, not hours worked.

Requirements

- 1+ years of experience in tax or small business financial management.

- Familiarity with financial reporting and modern accounting workflows.

- Ability to act as a project manager, keeping staff on deadline for payroll and tax filings.

- Excellent verbal communication skills—you are comfortable picking up the phone.

How to Apply

Please send a resume and a brief note describing a time you identified a financial issue for a client and helped them solve it.
