Excellent communicator with the ability to multi-task with a smile in a fast-paced environment. Responsible for promotion and processing of programs, service, and membership transactions. Previous customer service or sales experience. Requires basic computer skills.

Pay Rate: $13/hour

Job Description:

The Registration Desk Representative, working as a part of the Membership team, will deliver excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. The Registrations Desk Representative‘s primary responsibilities are to promote and process all programs, services, guidelines, and transactions.

Essential Functions:

- Provides quality member service by knowing and greeting all members by name in a pleasant and friendly manner, always

displaying a pleasant and professional attitude, assisting members, and referring questions or concerns outside of your area of

expertise to a supervisor.

- Uses excellent in person communication skills and telephone etiquette.

- Possesses a strong understanding of all programs, activities, services, and facilities.

- Communicates, assists with, and promotes all YMCA programs, activities, and services.

- Understands, follows, and communicates situation appropriately with YMCA policies and guidelines.

- Manages multiple tasks in an organized, efficient, and professional manner.

- Processes all program and service transactions.

- Manages and processes all money transactions for programs and services.

- Performs opening and closing procedures, end of shift reports, depositing of monies (programs, services, and membership), and

balancing of daily transactions.

- Promotes and sells YMCA retail items.

- Informs individuals of the financial assistance program and, after approval by Membership Manager, processes financial assistance

for programs and services.

- Maintains confidentiality of all member information.

- Scans member cards into the computer system and provides entry into facility.

- Refers member status to Membership Representative/ Membership Manager.

- Sells and processes membership transactions.

- Interacts with the Membership Director and Directors to continuously improve knowledge of programs and services.

- Refers to all situations and complaints to the appropriate Director.

- As requested, to assist other departments with administrative duties.

- When required, depending upon the availability of your schedule, substitutes for other member services staff.

- Assists in training other staff members in this job function.

- Attend scheduled staff meetings.

- Attends all required training and workshops.

- Communicates any substitutions directly to Registration Desk Coordinator/Director of Membership.

- Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment.

- Maintains adequate inventories of small items office supplies.

- Possess and demonstrate strong verbal communication, interpersonal, customer service, problem solving and organizational skills.

- Possess and demonstrate excellent in–person communication skills and telephone etiquette.

- Possess and demonstrate an ability to:

read, interpret, and effectively communicate documents, information, and instructions such as safety rules, program policies,

rules and procedures, and YMCA policies and procedures.

perform basic writing skills.

perform basic mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, using whole numbers, decimals, and

fractions.

perform basic computer skills such as entering program transactions etc.

solve problems and deal with a variety of situations and/or complaints from members and program participants.

work with minimum supervision.

work as part of the Membership, volunteers, and YMCA staff team.

Physical demands:

- Ability to frequently walk, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or

balance, walk up a minimum of two flights of stairs.

- Specific vision abilities required close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
