The Children's Hospital Foundation is hiring an Associate Director of the Data Center. The position will be domiciled at the Children's Hospital Foundation headquarters at TechMill 41, 105 40th Street in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh.The Associate Director of the Data Center sets the strategy and work plan for the Data Center Department in accordance with the department's goal of providing excellent support and customer service to the entire staff of the Children's Hospital Foundation and the organization's donors. The Associate Director supervises all Data Center staff. This position is also responsible for all fiscal management and accounting related to Foundation gifts/donations/revenue; reporting and reconciliation of those gifts; and collaborating with the Finance/audit team (internal and external) on annual audit of account receivables and daily/monthly cash deposits. The Associate Director is responsible for the Foundation's constituent record maintenance, gift transactions and acknowledgment process for Foundation donors and is also responsible for designing and implementing a Foundation-wide staff training plan for the constituent relationship database (Raiser's Edge and RE NXT.)Responsibilities:

Works with audit team (internal and external) with regard to annual audit of account receivables and daily/monthly cash deposits as they relate to the donor database.

Prepare contribution-related information for annual IRS form 990.

Coordinate efforts to ensure that the hospital's charitable registrations are current and in compliance with government regulations.

Oversees all data entry projects, ensuring the successful management and completion of them, which includes all facets from gift processing to constituent entry, (both manual and global entry.) This also includes the development and implementation of dashboards for frontline fundraisers/event managers, along with other specific database reports when needed.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Responsible for accounting and cash management activities between Foundation and Finance with relation to donations.

Ensure agreement between the detailed records of donations and the summary results of fund-raising efforts as reported by Finance.

Work closely with Finance to reconcile all accounting related issues.

Serves as the back-up to the Director of Prospect Management and Research when the director is not available.

Monitors all open pledge balances and creates appropriate pledge reminders; communicates this information to frontline fundraising staff in an effort to ensure fulfillment of open pledges.

Responsible for all communication with donors specific to gift recording, tax deductibility and other payment or donation related issues.

Manages the expenses specifically aligned with the Data Center department budget and participates, (with the Director of Prospect Management and Research), in setting the overall PMR/DC budget.

Demonstrates leadership in working across departments with other colleagues to cultivate creativity and problem-solving, achieve quality and efficiency and promote teamwork in support of departmental and Foundation goals.

Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with representatives of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Foundation donors and vendors.

Serves as the Foundations database administrator for the Luminate Online database.

Works closely with the Marketing and Communications, Corporate and Community Giving and Information Technology teams on their use of the system as well.

Confers with the Director of Prospect Management and Research to create and implement a comprehensive plan for database architecture and database reporting, while being responsible for the design and implementation of a Foundation-wide staff training program for Raiser's Edge, RE NXT and gift coding.

Utilizes current technology and best practices to provide the easiest end-user experience for the Foundation; provides recommendations to the Director on purchases of new products for the Foundation's Blackbaud suite of products, to assist the Foundation's efforts in fundraising.

Manages and directs all Data Center staff. Trains new employees; recommends personnel actions, including but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, employee development, promotions, vacation schedules, etc.

Maintains accurate and consistent donor and gift records in keeping with established policies and procedures.

Provides the strategy and direction for the Data Center department.

Works closely with the Director of Prospect Management and Research, (and other Foundation leadership and front-line fundraising colleague), to coordinate the strategy of the department to support the overall mission of the Foundation and to establish annual and long-term goals/metrics for the department with a focus on quality and service and effectiveness and efficiency.

Conducts training sessions for all new employees to the Foundation on gift coding/gift processing and usage of the Foundation's crowd fundraising platform, TeamRaiser, which is a subset of a constituent database known as Luminate Online.

Attends annual Hospital and departmental fire/safety and infection control training and maintains current knowledge of safety procedures within the Hospital and department.

Bachelor's degree required; preferably in accounting, finance, business or another related major; Master's degree is preferred.

Five years of experience in development and or non-profit fundraising organizations is required along with three to five years of demonstrated use and knowledge of Raiser's Edge, the Foundation's constituent relationship database. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
