Associate Director for Budget and FinanceThe Associate Director for Budget and Finance in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences (DSAS) will provide oversight and strategic direction for all financial accounting, purchasing budgeting, and reporting within the three DSAS academic divisions, and will partner with the Senior Director for Academic Operations and Administration to oversee a team dedicated to creating an environment committed to process improvement. The Associate Director will oversee all day-to-day accounting functions within the three DSAS academic divisions; develop and distribute detailed financial statements and budget variance analyses; and coordinate and manage the annual budget process. The position will work closely with and support the school's Department Chairs, unit Directors and Division Fiscal Managers as well as their staffs to develop process standards in alignment with university and school-level policies and procedures and to oversee all DSAS academic units' internal audits and address all accounting and compliance issues. The Associate Director will build and supervise a team of fiscal staff from all three academic divisions and develop and implement training for fiscal personnel across the DSAS academic units. Controls expenditures, develops projects, and ensures regulatory compliance.Essential FunctionsThe successful candidate will use a computer extensively. They must have proven accounting background, deadline driven and be highly motivated. They must be willing and able to develop processes and procedures and train colleagues. They must be capable of oral, written, and electronic communications. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. In addition to a computer, they must be able to use a telephone and other general office equipment including but not limited to photocopiers, scanners, printers, etc.Physical EffortThis position is generally sedentary within an office setting, but the ability to travel around campus is occasionally necessary.
