Description Our client in East Liberty is looking for a Dispatch Coordinator for a contract opportunity for 6 weeks. The Dispatch Coordinator, reporting to the Logistics Operations Manager, is responsible for the successful coordination of food distribution activities. Dispatch coordinators handle any and all incoming and outgoing communications from donors, volunteers and nonprofit partners to ensure that all aspects of our food distribution activities are synchronized and operating in concert. The ideal candidate must be friendly, organized, detail-minded, show initiative and be open to a diverse organizational culture. Hours are 9am - 5pm. Pay: $16-18.The strategic goals of this position are to:● Serve as the first point of contact for distribution partners and volunteers● Place incoming donations in an equitable manner to our nonprofit partners● Provide outstanding customer service by providing volunteers, donors, nonprofit partnerslogistical support, basic technical assistance, and sometimes crisis response supportMetrics for success include:● Tonnage● Missed rescue rate● Volunteer satisfactionEssential Functions● Engage in typical dispatch duties○ Respond to incoming communications coming through the main dispatch line andadvise or direct the caller appropriately○ Pair donations with NPPs○ Track rescue progress○ Remotely assist volunteers in the field○ Assist Fleet drivers in the field● Troubleshoot a variety of issues that volunteers, food donors, and nonprofit recipientsmay run into during a food rescue leveraging internal and external resources● Report technical issues and other inconsistencies to the Logistics Operations Managerand/or Director of Logistics in a timely manner● Provide outstanding customer service by providing volunteers, donors, nonprofitpartners, and more, logistical support, basic technical support (Tier 0 – IT SupportLevel), and sometimes crisis response support● Coordinate, monitor, and sometimes create original logistical plans for highly perishableshort shelf-life products● Communicate cross-functionally across various technical levels and provide planningand food safety support to our nonprofit partners as needed● Build and maintain professional relationships with the communities we serve● Perform other job-related duties as assignedRequirements Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:● A passion for the company's mission of keeping food out of the waste stream anddirectly tackling food insecurity through innovative programs● High degree of capacity and comfort with being on phone calls and texting using thecompany’s telephony system● High degree of comfort with ambiguity and a fast-moving environment● Ability to be proactive, agile and flexible● Ability to create and execute plans as well as be responsive to new opportunities thatmay arise● Strong oral and written communication skills● Organized with excellent time and space management skills● Compassionate and adaptable in working with people of diverse socio-economic andethnic backgrounds● Emotionally intelligent and committed to diversity, inclusion and equity● Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively● Commitment to food safety, the safety of volunteers, and providing a safe workenvironment.● Develops and maintains positive relationships with vendors and beneficiaries; maintainspositive relationships with all staff.Required Education & Experience● Experience with dispatch, customer service, call-center, volunteer or logistics operations● Experience troubleshooting and problem solving in a logistics environment● Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Google G Suite, database management,social media and electronic communication platforms.TalentMatch® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
