UPMC Corporate is hiring a Journeyman 2- Carpenter to join our team! This position will work Monday through Friday during the hours of 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM at various UPMC locations. This position will travel to various locations through the area and will have a company vehicle for travel.Do you have prior experience with carpentry? Construct and maintain structural and architectural woodwork, equipment and fixtures; build millwork, construct casework per print and perform masonry repairs as needed.
Maintain clean and safe work areas, equipment rooms and shop areas.
Operate power woodworking machinery such a lathes, saws, sander, power actuated tools, etc.
Perform all work following infection control procedures.
Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.
Perform related duties such as repair and install locks, install window glass, cut, fit and cement linoleum, lay resilient tile floors, etc.
Perform rough and finished carpentry, i.e. build millwork, and construct casework.
Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis.
Repair furniture, window, floor or structural and architectural woodwork by measuring, sawing, squaring, fitting, sanding and nailing or other processes where articles require closely fitted parts.
Responsible for setting up appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA) based on risk level and maintaining the integrity of that containment.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an industry-recognized three-year apprenticeship program in carpentry or equivalent on-the-job training.
Two additional years of experience as a journeyman carpenter OR what is required by local governing authority.
Must be skilled with the use of all woodworking tools.
This training includes such skills as blueprint reading, shop arithmetic, knowledge of strength of materials and their characteristics.
Knowledge of building codes is essential.
May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
No contact with medications is allowed.
