THE POSITION

The Department of State is seeking a detail oriented and driven Regulatory Enforcement Inspector dedicated to uphold the standards of various business professions. This position gives you the opportunity to ensure public health and safety through field inspection work to determine compliance with laws, rules, and regulations regarding professional and occupational licensing and other areas under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Commonwealth. Apply today to join a dynamic team that performs important investigative inspection work for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania!DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis is a highly rewarding position that focuses on physical inspections of barber shops, cosmetology salons, real estate offices, and vehicle dealerships to ensure they are abiding by public health and safety standards. As an Inspector, you will be issuing citations when appropriate violations are found and providing limited investigative support activities. You will have the opportunity to travel to various sites in a geographic area of the state to conduct periodic inspections of all affected professions and occupations, by observation and interviews, noting any deviation from established standards as well as preparing reports to communicate findings.This position is headquartered in Pittsburgh (Allegheny County); however, the majority of this position will be field work in, but not limited to, Clarion, Crawford , Elk, Erie, Forrest, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, and Warren counties.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; or

An Associate's Degree and one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which included one year of experience involving interpersonal public contact and inspecting for compliance with rules and regulations and reporting related facts.

Other Requirements:

This particular position also requires a driver's license which is not under suspension.
