Summary/ Objective:
The Counter Sales Representative plays an important role in supporting our goal of creating lasting value for those we serve by performing tasks to support the branch location and serve as a resource to customers. This position is responsible for offering counter support while exhibiting outstanding customer service skills and a commitment to quality and efficiency. You will work closely with our sales and operations teams to deliver customer experiences that promote and support our products and services, while meeting customer expectations. The Counter Sales Representative promotes our culture, The SYD Way, and our core values to all those they serve.
Essential Functions:
Serve a group of diverse customers at counters by providing information on products or services
Assist customers with product selection and application
Share information as it relates to the SYD credit policy, various delivery options, in-house services, and training events
Provide feedback on accurate product availability and delivery information
Make recommendations for stock items or customer service stock based on branch sales/customer inquiries
Maintain a neat, organized, and clean appearance throughout the counter area. Keep shelves, bins, and pegs stocked and properly labeled
Be informed and
Maintain current vendor/manufacturer promotional materials, displays, banners, sales collateral, and sales reference tools through counter area
Responsible for oversight of products on bid and/or sales orders, including but not limited to purchasing from vendors and/or manufacturers, resolve customer problems, communicate lead times, ensure delivery of order, and process credits
Work directly with vendors to obtain special pricing, when applicable.
Grow sales and gross margin
Utilize vendor websites for product searches, pricing, availability and cut sheets.
Review and manage daily reports and queues to maintain accurate prioritization and necessary follow-up on bids, open orders, and credits
Maintain Will Call orders, which may include calling customers, shipping orders, canceling orders, etc.
Perform cycle counts, maintain inventory and location accuracy
Manage all inbound and outbound communications in a professional and timely manner
Properly maintain daily schedule, e-mail, and voicemail to reflect current activities.
Work with Customer Experience Manager and/or Outside Sales to keep account pricing relevant and contact information up-to-date
Make outbound calls to house accounts or prospects in effort to grow business, as requested by your manager
Assist customers with safely loading their vehicles with purchased products
Pursuit of continuing education related to Schaedler Yesco Distribution products, services and solutions.

Supervisor Respons bility
This position is not a supervisory role and does not have any direct reports.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a Counter i.e., retail location. This position requires the use of such equipment as computers, internet, phones, and point-of-sale technology.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently.
Talk and hear, both in-person and via telephone.,
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Travel:
Travel is not a daily requirement of this job. Travel to training and/or company events, when applicable may be necessary.
Clearances and Certifications:
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.
Education and Experience:
Previous experience working in electrical sales or distribution required.
Must have experience utilizing Microsoft Office products.
Previous experience working in a retail or sales environment preferred.

Manage the Global Key accounts and an International Account in all regions (NA, LATAM, EMEA, APAC), including sales strategy, contracts, pricing, forecast and global projects and coordinate the activities for those accounts within IPG sales members, in the regions. Coordinate and implement marketing and sales strategies in conjunction with Paints and Coatings (P&C) Sales Manager and Global Marketing to maximize sales and profitability for IPG North America P&C Key Accounts. Maintain and grow market share while maintaining margins against low priced competitors. Recommend direction and strategies pertaining to Key Accounts to maintain business while implementing price increases under the direction of management. Forecast sales territory to assure proper production planning and inventory control. Set the annual financial forecast target presented to the regional Business Unit Head and maintain this target monthly. Reduce Days Sales Outstanding to support the financial budget. Coordinate the total sales effort with the sales representatives and technical sales specialist for the P&C Key Accounts by leading and organizing the activities with those customers under the direction of management. Negotiate legal contracts with the customers, utilizing sales strategies tools and legal guidance to formalize the commercial relationship, rights, and obligations between LANXESS and the customers. Act as a \"champion\" to facilitate and enhance productive and positive business relationships with key accounts including selling our value at all levels of the customer organization, building IPG image and credibility, develop strong personal and professional working relationships with key customer personnel. Recommend and implement pricing strategies for product lines while balancing input from customers, market trends, and competitive actions against cost developments. Develop and maintain the monthly rolling forecasts for customers in the sales territory as well as oversee the Key Account forecast. Build and leverage close working relationships with Key Accounts at the corporate level to drive new business growth and maintain long term continuous business success. Identify and define solutions to problems by observing and analyzing feedback from supporting field sales, key accounts, technical, and production, while accurately assessing its impact. 40% domestic and international travel. Remote work available from the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.
