The Role
As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for determining and enriching internal and external data sources for use in predictive analytics solutions.
You will be responsible for accelerating, innovating, and improving productivity for our clients, products, and employees leveraging enterprise data products and advanced analytics.
In addition to execution, you will partner across the bank to address priorities (e.g. automation, digitization and optimization etc.). You will work with both technical and business organization to deliver solutions to complex business and process issues, identify actionable opportunities for improvement, and deliver financial impact to the firm.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing data transformations and models using internal and external data for predictive analytics applications for cloud environments. Looks for new and better ways to improve the environment, ensuring a quality product.
Responsibilities
Provide expertise in big data pipelining (ingestion, transformation, visualization, building and optimizing classifiers - (Regression/ KNN Classification / Random Forest / SVM etc.) using machine learning and deep-learning based techniques)
Provide expertise in defining architectures and implementing systems for data pipelining for Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning applications.
Provide excellent analytical skills to mine data, model data, develop algorithms and analyze results to determine decisions or actions
Create / contribute to the creation of new innovation project proposals including the pre-socialization with stakeholders, the creation of business cases, cost and revenue projections.
Manage multiple concurrent initiatives and projects of varying sizes & complexity
Effective upward and downward communication on all notable progress to all key stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is beneficial, 7-10 years of diverse experience in information technology required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and quickly learn new application systems and technology.
Experience with determining the internal and external (structured and unstructured) data required for varied Predictive Analytics solutions,
Experience with defining architectures and implementing systems for data pipelining for Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning applications.
Experience with processing unstructured data; natural language processing (NLP), classifying, categorization
Experience with big data ingestion, transformation,
Experience with the metadata and techniques required for identifying, tracking (pedigree/lineage), confidence, provenance, and security of datasets, files, and objects.
Experience with NoSQL graph database technology.
Experience with the Agile methodology.
Experience working in geographically dispersed teams
Experience working with large databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Vertica)
Comfortable working with geographically dispersed team
Excellent collaboration and communication skills (oral, written)
Ability to problem solve and performance tune in a high paced development environment
Preferred
Core development experience in Java technologies (e.g. JEE, JSP, Servlets, EIP, XML/XSLT, JSON, SQL, JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, Bash)
Understanding of service orientated multi-tiered application architecture utilizing web service standards and protocols (REST, JSON)
Familiar with release management and version control including GIT
Comfortable with a range of project and software development methodologies - experience with agile scrum preferable
Familiar with Continuous Integration, micro services, API Management, and container architecture (Docker, Kubernetes)
Previous experience in AWS (IaaS, PaaS) , Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Office 365) architecture, design and development
