POSITION SUMMARYActs as first-level contact for all technical assistance requests; ensures all customers' needs are met regarding any and all hardware and software issues and corrects all issues or errors professionally and in a timely manner.Department: Innovation and PerformanceSalary: $50,343 per year.Posting Type: Announcement/BidUnion: This position is included in the American Federation of State, County, Municipal Employees, Local 2719 bargaining unit and will be filled in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must show one (1) year of full-time experience in computer support or help/service desk support. (Full-time is defined as 32 hours or more per week. Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)

EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show an Associate's Degree from a fully accredited institution in Information Systems or a related field, or a Help Desk Certification. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training).

EQUIVALENCY: Education/training and/or work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above). The Total Qualifying Requirement is three (3) years. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training.)

CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATIONSCivil Service Examination(s):If you meet the qualifying requirements listed above, you will be sent a letter of admission (when applicable) for the following examination(s). POSITION DUTIES

Configures email systems and city work telephones and electronic devices.

Researches written specifications for computer applications.

Installs printers and software; unlocks/resets passwords and clears print queues.

Rebuilds profiles and assists with MS Office.

Assists clients with Internet issues, runs maintenance on virtual devices (Zero/Thin Clients), and creates, configures, and maintains RSA Tokens.

Installs, configures, tests, and supports computer hardware, software (e.g., Windows 10), printers, communication devices, and graphics and storage peripherals.

Runs virus scans and spyware removal and upgrades hardware and software.

Ensures adherence to established departmental computer system and network standards, policies, and procedures.

Analyzes and evaluates interface of new hardware and software with existing systems.

Provides first-level contact and responds to user queries via ticketing system, email, in person, over the phone, and remotely.

Installs, modifies, maintains, and repairs computer software.

Assists users with Microsoft Office Suite.

Troubleshoots network communication and peripheral problems.

Maps drives and printers.

Creates and continuously updates documents and/or manuals for users and training.

Gathers information and writes documentation for requests and assistance.

Performs other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required.
