Help ensure fair results in real cases by giving us your honest opinion on legal issues. Participate remotely in one of several focus groups that are being held using zoom. Participation consists of a short, online survey and introductory session lasting about a half-hour, followed by a three-hour focus group. At the end of the focus group, a check for $100 will be mailed to you at your address.
The only requirement for participation in the focus group is that you be a U.S. Citizen and of voting age. We will select 6-8 people for each focus group. The focus groups will be scheduled in one of three time periods: weekday mornings (9-12:30), weekday afternoons (1-4:30), or weekday evenings (5:00-8:30). You will have the opportunity to indicate which you prefer when you sign up.
There is no preparation needed. Just bring a curious and open mind, and a willingness to share your opinions. If selected, you will be sent a confidentiality agreement and a zoom link. When you log on, we will test your camera and microphone to make sure you can be seen and heard. You will fill out a “juror questionnaire,” and once everyone is online and we have the completed forms, we will begin. Previous experience using zoom is helpful but not required.
The session will be private, and none of your information or anything said in the focus group will be shared with anyone other than the lawyers and parties to the cases you discuss.

What you will be asked to do:
Give your honest opinion about issues in real lawsuits.
Allow your opinions to be shared afterwards with the lawyers and parties to the lawsuits.
Agree to keep what you hear and see confidential. (Your contact information and what you say in the focus group likewise will be kept confidential.)
What you will accomplish:
You will be paid for your time and participation.
You will share what you know with others, and learn also from what they know.
You will help real people resolve real lawsuits, and you will help ensure fair results in those cases.
