Summary
This position is responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks around the yard, picking station, facility, scrap house, or at job site locations. The position will assist loading and unloading trucks, yard directions, operating equipment, keeping up the general maintenance of the facilities, and working with customers.
Duties include:
Sorting through inert materials gathering wood, metal and plastics for recycling
Loading and unloading material
Transporting materials throughout the work area
Using and operating a variety of tools and machines such as power drills, pressure washers, shears, can crusher, forklift, etc.
Directing traffic and the flow of traffic through the yard by communicating with drivers
Sorting and separating metals into high grade metals, such as copper, brass, and aluminum
Cleaning machinery
Clean and prepare job sites
Performs clean-up of facility and yard including sweeping, shoveling bulk commodities, raking, painting, and general upkeep
Requirements:
Have good communication skills and be able to take direction well, works well in a team environment as well as independently.
Must have physical strength, good hand-eye coordination, motor coordination with finger dexterity and endurance. Must have the ability to work around moving equipment.
Experience in a heavy labor position preferred
