JOB SUMMARY:

American Textile Company is seeking a self-motivated individual, with sound reasoning and decision making abilities to work at our manufacturing facility. You will have limited supervision and be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance and repairs of the Companys manufacturing machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems. You will be the decision maker on this shift and will utilize your skills to maintain productive operation of continuously operating equipment including all pillow manufacturing equipment. Must be capable of troubleshooting machine control panels including PLCs, and relay logic. Your ideas to improve efficiency will be welcomed and implemented. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to improve both themselves and our production efficiency. Room for advancement through attrition and added company positions. Internal training is available and ongoing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintenance

Designs, implements and modifies preventive maintenance programs by reviewing production and maintenance reports. Maintains Production areas ensuring that all work areas are free from debris and hazards, maintaining a safe and clean working environment. Performs repairs to the Companys equipment. Ability to trouble shoot, identify and safely repair mechanical and electrical issues to assure efficient machine operation. Maintenance and upgrade of facility including electrical, lighting, plumbing, air compressors, and some HVAC equipment. Mill and lathe skills are an advantage to be able to fabricate/manufacture new and repair items. Implementation of effective new ideas geared at reducing downtime and increasing productivity.

Safety

Enforces Companywide safety policies, to prevent employee accidents and injuries. Investigates all employee accidents and prepares reports for the Plant Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 3-5 years relevant maintenance experience

Basic Math Skills

Experience with mechanical maintenance repair

Experience with electrical maintenance repair

Experience with hand tools

Lathe and Mill experience are a plus

Problem solving skills a must

Experience with fast paced production environment

Proficiency with written and verbal skills

Must be PC literate

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds

Ability to frequently carry objects weighing up to and including 25 pounds

Ability to push and/or pull objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds

Ability to withstand exposure to extreme climate variations; exposure to heat and cold

Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb and/or squat.

Ability to frequently stand/walk
